Since October 1, 2009, thousands of couples have registered as domestic partners in Nevada and gained access to a broad range of legal protections to make their relationships and families more secure. Now, it’s time for a check-up. We want to hear about your real-world experiences and how domestic partnerships are faring in Nevada.
Our Nevada Domestic Partnership Tracker system aims to ensure that same-sex and different-sex couples who have a domestic partnership (either because they have applied for one in Nevada, or because their out-of-state domestic partnership or civil union qualifies as a domestic partnership in Nevada) are treated fairly under Nevada law.
We know from experience in other states that have adopted domestic partnership laws, that many couples and their children encounter problems getting respect for their relationships, whether in hospitals settings, by insurers, employers, schools, or in other situations. While not all unfair treatment leads to legal action, knowing more about your rights will help you respond.
Please join our Nevada Domestic Partnership Tracker. Complete the form and you will be connected to our team of experts who will help you navigate this territory in Nevada.
